Michael Elkin has been with Kaufman, Rossin & Co. since 2002 and serves as the firm's Forensic, Advisory and Valuation Services practice leader. He has over twenty years of experience providing business consulting, forensic accounting, litigation consulting and expert witness testimony in the areas of financial investigations, economic damages, business valuation, intellectual property infringement, breach of contract, professional liability, and complex accounting, finance and business matters. Mike has extensive experience serving as a court appointed receiver, custodian, liquidating receiver, special magistrate, and valuation expert in order to resolve disputes, manage ongoing business activity and/or carry out the winding down of business affairs. He provides his clients with a wide variety of consulting services relating to acquisition assistance, business planning and other engagements designed to assist them with critical management decisions.
Mike's experience includes forensic accounting, consulting, audit, accounting and tax engagements for private and public companies in various industries including distribution, real estate development and construction, health care, manufacturing, franchising, retail operations and financial services.
He has testified as an expert in several United States District courts throughout the country and in United States Bankruptcy Court and circuit courts throughout Florida as well as in front of the American Arbitration Association in several states. He has directed financial investigations and expert witness engagements in matters involving business conducted throughout the United States, Latin America and the Caribbean.
Mike received a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Florida and is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Florida, Accredited in Business Valuations, and a Certified Fraud Examiner.
